You might want to have a look at this- it is the World War 2 miracle story told by Jack Spratt. Jack Spratt was a ball-turret gunner on an American B17 bomber that was shot down on a bombing raid over Nazi Germany. He managed to bail out but his parachute did not work and he nearly fell to his death, however seconds before he hit the ground his defective parachute got stuck in a tree and it stopped his fall and he survived!
